BHOPAL: State government has yet again issued directives to private schools over monopoly of text books. They would not be able to pressurize students and their parents to buy books and uniform from any particular seller or distributor. Directives have been issued to all district collectors on Wednesday.

Government received complaints that private schools pressure students taking admission or already studying to buy books, uniform and other teaching material from specific shops.

Government has also said that private schools should use their discretion in selecting books published by private publishers/NCERT/text-book corporation. It would be mandatory for all private schools to display on notice board list of writers and publishers of text-books and their price at least one month before start of new academic session.

Name of school will not be allowed to be printed on any teaching material. It would be written on school's notice board that there is no compulsion to buy materials from any specific shop. Students would not be told to purchase books, uniform, tie, shoes, and copies from schools.
